Désirée hält einiges aus. Kein Problem, wenn es eine Woche lang kein Wasser gibt oder über mehrere Tage hinweg die Temperatur auf über 25 Grad steigt – Désirée wächst einfach langsamer. Aber auch Désirées Stressresistenz hat Grenzen. Als die Forscher ihre Töpfe drei Tage hintereinander mit Wasser fluteten, wurde es Désirée zu viel. Die Kartoffelpflanzen starben.
