The ADAPT project was presented at the European Researchers' Night (ERN) 2022 on September 26 at the at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Approximately 3,600 visitors attended the event as part of the afternoon program and 1,000 viewers online. In addition, around 600 pupils attended the workshops for schools in the morning. More than 300 scientists took part in 11 workshop formats, 6 online lectures, a science flash and a round table, 74 scientific stations, as well as the stage program with the show by Werner Gruber, 5 science slams at the Austrian final, and two concerts.
Supported by the AGES, ADAPT activities related to easily visible differences such as skin colour or shape of different potato varieties were shown and simple hands-on experiments for “young researchers” were offered, which were greatly taken up by families visiting the exhibition of the ADAPT project. Moreover, a poster and two videos were displayed showing drone flights from field phenotyping in the Netherlands provided by Meijer potato and a running high-throughput phenotyping experiment of potato plants under stress condition done at PSI in Brno.
